Comune
A town that happily unites nature and productivity. Within the limits of its municipality are located the moorland park called the Parco Sovracomunale della Brughiera Briantea and a dense network of small and medium-sized ventures specializing in the wood and furniture sector that are renewing an ancient craft tradition.

Cantù

City
The cultural and manufacturing capital of northern Brianza, Cantù boasts significant vestiges of its mediaeval past. The mastery of Cantù’s craftsmen, constantly handed down by the city’s numerous schools of design, is brought back to life every year during the Festa del Legno, or Festival of Wood.

Carugo

City
The dense craft and industrial fabric of the small town is set in a landscape dotted with villas, farmhouses and nature reserves, under the vigilant gaze of the tower that recalls the presence of an ancient castle.

Figino Serenza

City
A town with a long tradition of farming, it saw an intensification of the presence of shops for the working of the wood and iron in the 20th century. Today, the dense fabric of small ventures operating in the wood and furniture sector constitutes the pride of the area.

Lentate sul Seveso

City
Located in the Seveso Valley between the Parco delle Groane and the Parco della Brughiera Briantea, Lentate is a historic holiday resort of the Milanese nobility, as is evident from the villas scattered around the area and the oratory of Santo Stefano, one of the finest examples of 14th-century Lombard painting.

Lissone

City
Lissone, is known as the ‘Furniture Capital’ owing to the town’s numerous enterprises. Home town of the Istituto Meroni, one of the main professional schools in the field of furniture design. Point's of excellence for the municipality are important centres, such as the Furniture and Interior Design Library and the Museum of Contemporary Art, promoters of exhibitions in the field of art and design.

Mariano Comense

City
Located at a convenient position halfway between Milan and Como, Mariano has established itself as one of the most important industrial centres in Brianza. The history of the area, bordered by the Parco della Brughiera Briantea, is reflected in its churches and elegant villas.

Meda

City
The economy of the city, famous as the home of one of the most important schools of cabinet-making in Italy, is still based on woodworking and the production of furniture, with some of the leading manufacturers of the sector active in the area. The historic complex of Villa Antona-Traversi, with the attached church of San Vittore, dominates the landscape of the Northern Milanese region.

Sovico

City
A small town with a centuries-old tradition of crafts, Sovico is situated on the eastern edge of the furniture district and in the heart of Brianza, where the hills meet up with the plain through which the river Lambro flows. The Villa dei Conti Rossi-Martini is testimony to a glorious past.

MEET Brianza EXPO


Meet Brianza EXPO is the project that aims to put Brianza on display. Promoted by the Province of MB – the lead institution – in collaboration with the MB Chamber of Commerce and STER (Local Headquarters of the Lombardy Region), it has seen the participation of 61 regional players.

Lead institution behind the Meet Brianza EXPO project, set up to actively involve tourists, giving the region exposure and promoting its points of excellence by presenting an image of Brianza as a lively and vital area and reinforcing and exploiting its distinctive character and consequent appeal during and after the EXPO.

Coordinator of the Brianza Design District thematic macro-area, which has the objective of promoting Brianza’s ‘know-how’ and combining it with the aspect of tourism by proposing an experience that actively and emotionally involves visitors to the Expo and other tourists, making the most of the region and its areas of excellence.

Brianza Experience


A network of ten municipal authorities (Cabiate, Cantù, Carugo, Figino Serenza, Giussano, Lentate sul Seveso, Lissone, Mariano Comense, Meda and Sovico), it was set up in 2014 and is intended to serve as the instrument of a new policy of exploitation of resources, development and communication in the service of the enterprises and inhabitants of the areas involved.

City Innovation Lab/Altis – Alta Scuola Impresa e Società was set up at the Postgraduate Schools of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart as a European knowledge platform dedicated to regional promotion that uses cultural planning and place branding as its means. City Innovation Lab/Altis carries out projects of regional development that aim to make the most of cultural resources, creative industries and experiential tourism, as well as training programmes for the administrators of local bodies interested in utilizing place branding as a means of boosting the appeal of the region.

A consortium set up by Milan Polytechnic that works in the field of design, acting as a link between universities, enterprises, authorities and institutions and the professional world. A flexible structure that draws on the wide range of expertise to be found at Milan Polytechnic, experimenting with advanced forms of education and research.
